Everything moves – even when it feels still

It can look still.

A tree standing there, unmoving.
A lake without ripples.
A body sitting quietly.

But nothing is actually still.

In nature a constant movement is going on.

The trees grow, slowly, almost imperceptibly.
The leaves move in the wind, even when we barely notice it.
The water moves beneath the surface.

Everything changes, all the time.

And the same is true of us.

We breathe.
The heart beats.
The blood moves through the body.

Our cells work constantly,
are renewed, break down, are built up again.

Even on a level we cannot see
there is movement.

The atoms move.
Energy is transferred.
Everything is in constant change.

We are part of the same movement.

Not separated from nature,
but a part of it.

Part of a larger flow
that is always going on.

Perhaps that is why it sometimes feels heavy
when we try to hold on.

When we want something to be as it has always been.
Or when we try to control what actually wants to move on.

Nature does not do that.

It does not hold on.
It lets go.
It lets things change.

And perhaps there is something in that for us as well.

That we do not always need to understand the movement.
Or steer it.

Perhaps it is enough, sometimes, to go with it.
To trust that life moves, even when it feels still.

Because beneath the surface…
everything is already in motion.
